View Full Version : 2X Telephoto lens for FZ5

What 2X telephoto lens brands have resulted in good shots for this camera. Want to get quality images but not using the ultra expensive brands. 55mm right? Any problems using a 2X?

I don't think it's going to look good with that much telephoto, even if it was a $400 converter.
You'll be finding yourself halving the picture size in order to compensate for the quality lost from the tc. Kinda negates the purpose of it.

I do not know of anyone useing it on a FZ5 as it is a large lens even though its light but the RAynox 2020 pro is the best 2X lens.

One that may be worth trying is the Olympus C210 , while it did not work great on the FZ20 it may work better on the FZ5 and you can usually find it on Ebay for 40 bucks.

If it is a 55mm nose will the TCON 17 [1.7x] fit?
Does anyone have experience with this combo?
1.7 is not quite 2.0!

Understand the TCON 17 is quite good on a FZ30

The FZ30 handles most add-on lenses better then the FZ10 and FZ20.
The DCR2020, last shot, also is very improved.
