Hello there, Guess I'm the new guy on the block on this Forum and the S2 IS as well. I've been using digital cameras for several years. Started with an RCA 1MP that I got a long time ago. Although it wasn't that great of a camera I had a great time with it and took some great pics with it also. I have a Nikon coolpix, a small compact Sony, just to carry around, and a H-P 735, which I've had pretty good luck with. I wanted a Canon Camera and read so much on so many Canon Cameras my eyes crossed. But after it was all said and done the S2 IS won and I bought one. It seems to be a great camera, and I'm sure after I finish learning all the things this camera will do, I'll like it even more. I was a little concerned when I first got the camera, as it seems like when the camera powered up the lens assy. made a lot of noise compared to my other cameras, but after I considered all the lens and the 12X I figured there was quite a bit of stuff moving around inside there. Has anyone else thought it was noisy, or is it just me being too picky. Anyway I do some free lance work for a couple of motorcycle magazines and wanted a good durable camera that had a lot of features so I didn't have to carry a huge bag of equipment (like with SLR's) in a small back-pack and go to rallies and other events and still be able to take some nice pics. I taken some pictures with the S2 and it seems to take really great ones. There's a big Rally in Myrtle Beach SC the end of the month so I'm sure it will get a good workout. On the forum it stated something about a S2 Club, is that something different than this forum? If anyone can give me any pointers on this new S2, that would be great. I also have enjoyed reading all the posts as it seems that it's a no-nonsense forum which is great. I started and run a News Group on Yahoo, just because of all the crap you had to read through on some of the other motorcycle news groups. Thanks-a-lot, David
