Surely the point of a camera is to be a useful photographic tool.
I dumped a Canon G6 because the viewfinder was innaccurate. Sharp yes, low noise yes, acurate viewfinder no. End of story.

I make great A3s with a Fuji s 5500 4 megapixel at least up to highest club standard here in Auckland. It is sharp, has an accurate evf, and easy to carry around and use. I figured an S9000 built along similar lines would be better and very useful.

Downloading an 80 iso sunflower sample print, printing with tweaks in photoshop with a bit of Neat Image thrown in, produced a stunning A3.

At 1600 ISO it was easy to make a decent print at A4 using Neat Image. At least good enough for most people.

I confidently expect to compete well with my dslr buddies (I own a 300D)
with the s9000 I have on order. By the time they stagger to the site with their heavy dslrs I'll be well gone with an ace in my bag.

Neat Image is cheaper works well with noise reduction and makes digicams perform more like dslrs.

Hey buy one if you don't love it sell it.

Good post Andrew :) although we have several going on the S9000, I think the camera warrants it! You have a 9MP sunflower jpeg? can you provide a link?

I played with those sunflower shots too in Photoshop.. Breathtaking clarity and noticeably better that what I could achieve with my S7000 (sold on eBay 3 days ago... Still miss the old girl :( )

I've ordered a 9500 and can't wait!
