Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Lens

Hello everyone. After reading extensively on this lens I read also that it may not be compatible with DSLR"S which means that I cant use this on the rebel xt? . Is this true?

nope, many XT users own this lens and love it, mine is on it's way. The previous owner was also an XT user. I'm not sure where you read that bu that's a mistake, could itbe another lens or another issue?

The rebel XT is compatible with all EF and EF-S mount Canon lenses or third party lenses made for EF mounts. I don't know where you heard such a thing.

works fine on my 300d, though it's slower to focus than my 17-40. i've also read at least one account that the 300d has problems supplying power to the sigma 80-400 OS. maybe it's just a 300d issue, or maybe merely a problem with only a certain shipment(s) of that camera.

The guy that wrote that is a fool. You won't have focus problems with that lens any more than you would any other EF or EF-S mount lens.

I owned that lens for a short time and it worked great with my XT. No focus issues at all.

For me, the 75-300 IS USM made more sense. I've actually been quite pleased with that lens though I am anxious to try out the new 70-300 IS.
