Well, I knew I had to have some problem sooner rather then later...
When I'm manual mode (95% of the time) sometimes the camera switches into "C" mode by itself! The first two times it happened, I didn't realize what was going on...the settings were just inexplicably changing as I was framing a shot...but the "C" instead of "M" in the upper right corner of the viewfinder was the easy giveaway. I have to move the mode dial off of M and then back to fix it, but sooner or later it happens again. Obviously this is the result of the switch being faulty (the mode dial is just a fancy switch). I missed about 10 shots because of this (which really pissed me off...especially at the Grand Canyon). So, it's Canon technical support for me for the first time in two years of having problem-free Canons.
I searched the Internet and couldn't find this problem reported anywhere, so hopefully, it's just an anomaly...
