I am leaning towards one of the Panasonic super zooms and like most everything I read. Can anyone tell me how they fair on red eye? I have a Minolta S414 now and it is TERRIBLE. Every picture is glowing! Obviously, I can edit and get rid of most red eye but with my present camera that means EVERY picture. It would be nice to have a camera that did not have so much red eye. I have read the SONY line was good about little red eye but what about the Panasonics? Thanks.

Despite manufacturers' claim, I don't think any red-eye reduction works. It only delays the shot for a fraction of second then you miss that perfect moment.
I have a FZ20 and I have to remove the red-eye with Photoshop, so I just turn it off.

I have taken many people shots with the FZ5 and I have not seen any red eye problem yet.

I have to add that I don't always get red-eye shots with my FZ20. But from time to time, for some reasons the red eyes just pop out of the photos.

The fz20's built in flash sets up considerably higher than most built in flahes which does help reduce redeye. It doesn't completely eliminate it though. It does seem to pop up in the most random of photos. I personally hate redeye reduction flash mode. It confuses the subjects and often time makes people blink without knowing it.To really get a handle on it, slap an external flash on that bad boy. That's how I shoot 90% of my flash worthy shots anyways. I can reccomend the Sunpak 383 as an EXCELLENT external flash for the fz line. Really once you shoot with an external flash, you don't really want to go back. You can pick one up for around 80 bucks depending on where you order. Google it. Just a suggestion though. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip BonjiB. I don't have real need for flashgun however. It's cheaper and more convenience for me to use the software. Thanks goodness for digital age.
