I browsed this forum looking for advice about my cracked SD100, and I must say, you guys do a fantastic job helping camera users of all skill levels.
I've read most of what has been posted about the SD500, but my situation is slightly different (1.5" screen, not 2"), and I'd appreciate any advice you guys have. I've had it for a year and a half, close to 2 years now. I used to be neurotic about protecting my camera, but over time, I guess I became lax about it.

With all the reading that I've done, I've come upon three options, none of which I'm terribly crazy about.

1) Buy the lcd part, and try to replace it myself, which will cost around $50, if it's the similar to the SD500.
2) Send my camera in to get fixed, for at least $160
3) Trade up for a better, albeit refurbished SD200, for about $130

I've pretty much ruled out number 2. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a new camera, except it would take me a little while to save up $130. My first reaction was to jump at the sd200, but after realizing that a new one costs around 180 anyway, I'd have to think about it. The guy at the camera store I talked to told me that it wasn't possible to replace it myself, but thanksfully you guys have shown me otherwise. I think I'd be able to do the replacement.

Which option would you choose?
