Something I've heard a lot of recently is this push on "Fast" lenses on P&S cameras and a few people in error claiming things like "F 2.8 on a P&S is gonna get you the shutter speeds you won't get with a dSLR and kit lens"
It's just not true. F 2.8 is nice, BUT F 2.8 at ISO 80 on a P&S yeiling a 1/40th a second exposure, you can acheive the SAME exposure on a F5.6 lens at ISO 800 on a dSLR. Unlike a P&S (most, fuji has some exciting technology) dSLR will give you a useable 800,1600 and with some processing 3200 in some cases.
Just a bit of information I thought people should know. Fast lenses on any camera is a good thing but don't buy a point and shoot assuming a F 2.8 lens will "make up" for limited ISO range more then high ISO range "makes up" for slower lenses.
