Was out for a walk on Friday evening with Niece & Nephew and on the way back we spotted this lovely lady accross the other side of the field. Managed to get about 4 or 5 shots before she disappeared back into the undergrowth.

The first few of your pictures are really good. How close were you at the time?

I have very little to offer here in return - here are a couple of photographs of bats. The cave contans about 3 million of the critters and, every night - about an hour before sunset - out they come. It takes about an hour and a half to empty the cave - but this sort of intensity lasts about 30 minutes.

Tham Khangkhao, Ratchaburi province, Thailand, December 26th 2004 (the day the Tsunami hit)

Amazing sight. It just resembles smoke drifting in the sky, especially as it gets darker.

I took this photo last Christmas season driving home through the Canadian Rockies. It's a little blurry though cuz we were moving and so was the subject :(

Thanks Glenn - we were sat in the kitchen having breakfast, luckly had camera close to hand as we had been reviewing pics taken day before, not sure of distance but they were taken on full optical Zoom so a fair distance.

Btw - love the pics of the Bats must have been quite an experience. :)

At the time, saw nothing heard nothing. The realisation only dawned that something real serious had happened when we got back to Bangkok the next day, when there were reports of a few hundred dead.

Even strnger, was being interiewed by UK police in Bangkok airport on 7th January and again in London airport on arrival, checking names off long, long lists.

Hmm, strange no stickie for this thread. Anyway, here's my first attempt at wildlife in terms of mammals. Hope you like it, and criticism is welcome. :)

Thanks Val. :) Yours and so many of the others' pictures are absolutely awesome!

Here's another little guy I got today. He thought if he stayed low and didn't move there was no way I could possibly see him. :p

Nice pics everyone. Here are a couple of pics I took while out in the Ozarks in Missouri (Taum Sauk Mountain State Park). The first guy was nice and stood still while I took many shots from many different angles. These were taken with my Sigma 70-300 mm APO, both at 300mm in macro mode. Comments welcome!

Nice ones, JWhite...I especially like the lizard :)

Got this little fellow a while ago—blue tailed skink I believe—and those are pine needles under him to give you an indication of his size. :)

I caught this little fellow today whilst in our local forest. Shot was taken on the 20D with the Sigma 70-300mm lense on Macro, hand held F5.6, 1/60 at 300mm.

Hope you like......
