My Fuji Finepix F700 has 3 settings for fluorescent lights:
1. "Daylight" fluorescent lamps
2. "Warm White" fluorescent lamps
3. "Cool White" fluorescent lamps
But the manual does not explain what the differences are or how you differentiate between them.
Can anyone help explain this?

Those are the usual colors available for tubes. Daylight is the most common and looks white or slightly bluish to the eye. Cool white is not that much different. Warm white is unmistakeable - it has a brownish warmth to it.
As for setting the balance, I'd use the one that gives the
"whitest whites", like laundry. :-)
My camera (FZ20) has only one setting for fluorescents and seems to work fine, as does Auto. There's none of the greenish cast that plagues color film.

Bill
