View Full Version : Kodak V550 feels hot to touch?

I bought a V550 a few days ago and was using it extensively yesterday. I noticed that the camera starts to feel noticeably hot to the touch, and somewhat uncomfortable to hold, after a few minutes of use. It's particularly noticeable near the bottom and to the right of the LCD screen, coincidentally where the battery is housed.

I'm concerned it's a sign of a faulty battery, or worse, a manufacturing defect. Then again, this is the first ultra-compact camera I've bought, so poor heat dissipation might just be a common side effect of the small size.

Anyone else notice this? Is it normal, or should I be concerned/exchange it?

Thanks.

Quite some time since you posted.
I'm considering buying a V550.
What has developed with yours? TIA

I have a Kodak V-530, that I also use extensively. I have not noticed any heat problems with my camera. I was happily snapping away as we drove at 75mph without stopping from California into Oregon. All together I probably snapped about 50 photos without any heat problems. Here is a sample.
