Can anyone recommend somewhere for camera insurance?

I'm an amateur and my stuff is worth about £400.

I wouldn't honestly bother. I never have - even when I was carting around two thousand quids worth of kit. It's something I investigated and found way too expensive.

Assuming that an insurer charged you GBP 50 for insurance, by the time next year comes around, your camera is only worth GBP 200. That's a GBP 250 loss on the first year. Next year you could buy a brand new camera for GBP 300 that should perform better than your current camera.

You're trapped between the insurer's fear of high-tech being attractive to villains, the declining value of your equipment and the effects of deflation on the price of new cameras.
