Canon EOS SLR

I have a Canon EOS SLR camera which has given me superb service since new in 1985. However the last 2 set of films that have been processed seem to indicate that problems have arisen:

# In the first film a number of the photographs were 'cut in half' i.e. the lower of the photo was black, whilst the top half was correctly processed.

# With the second film, only 6 photos were correctly processed. The negatives of the remaining 18 were completely blank.

Are there problems with the shutter, or is it something more than that? Any help would be gratefully accepted!

The shutter would be my guess.

yeah, sounds like the shutter has gotten a fair amount of use or is simply old and is having problems.

If you were using flash and had a really fast shutter speed and a slower flash speed, what may happen is that the shutter closes halfway before the flash fires and illuminates everything. This usually only happens in dark situations though.
