Thanks for the report, nuvolino. It was put out in another thread (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showpost.php?p=64882&postcount=23) that Lensmate doesn't recommend the Raynox DCR-2020 because of extreme vignetting (which seems to be verified by your report of only half the zoom range being available) and chromatic aberration (sp?).

by the way with all tele lens you will get vignetting even the manufactures lens too ..in actualy fact this has about the same useable range as the official lens from what I have seen (approx half way too)

My B300 vignettes up to about 5.4x on S2. It's a fact of life for tele lens, I believe. CA is not such a biggie with software being able to eliminate it pretty well nowadays.

Thanks, for posting the images. I been looking at teleconverter lenses for my s2 for quite a while. They are very useful and interesting.

Thanks to JTL, he pointed out that there is a tool in Paint Shop Pro v.9 which is dedicated to removing CA. I have PSP so had to buy nothing more. I would think other graphic programs would have something similar but I don't know. As JTL explained to me, takes longer to write about it than to do it :) Click on the tool icon, enlarge area where CA located, select the area's CA, and that's it...it gets rid of all similar CA within the photo so you only have to select the area one time, one spot.
This sample was out of focus to begin with as was not the subject matter, but shows CA eliminated.
