I am wondering, how can we take a photograph of moon with dx 6490? I have seen few of such with various camera. Can anyone help in that regard?

Should be easy. Set to center spot metering and auto or daylight white balance. Zoom in enough to make the moon large enough to fill the center metering spot. Press the shutter. You might have to set the camera on infinity (the little mountain symbol) if the auto focus freaks out.
The moon is roughly equivalent to a terrestrial object at infinity in the daytime, as long as it is large enough to fill the area that is used for exposure metering. If you can't zoom in enough to fill the metering spot, you might have to use manual exposure controls.

after you take your photo (with a tripod) than use your digital camera zoom to get closer
