Just wondering, since I read the reviews and there is no action mode to freeze action. Is the kids & pets mode supposed to replace that? According to Canon USA's site under the SD550 features it says,
"Kids & Pets
Reduced time lag freezes fast-moving subjects so you won't miss those special shots."
Is this mode enough to freeze "action" such as live concerts, and sports? If not, is there any other (changing settings, sorry for my newbness) way to compensate for freezing action?

Yup, Kids & Pets is the action mode.
In concerts you have low light to worry about, not sure that freezing action by using fast shutter speed will work very well. You'll need to push ISO as well.

Thanks for your tip Dave. Would you happen to have a sd400 or sd500 (or any sd series I guess) by any chance? What ISO would you suggest for a concert in general. I know each is different but a lower light concert would be like ___ ISO and a brighter lighted concert would be ___ (sorry for my newbiness). Also how does the kids & pets mode perform when freezing action? I really would like to know. I'm planning to purchase a sd series, but I have also considered the SonyDSCP200 and the Olympus Stylus 800. Thanks.

I've got the SD300, and frankly low light shooting is not the forte of this camera. I got mine mainly for outside shooting (hiking, skiing, biking) and would think that concert shooting, especially without a flash, will be a disappointment.

I've filled up the blanks for you ;)

Thanks Dave! And filled up the blanks? Final question, any suggestions on what camera to buy for my situation?
