Itīs out !!!!!!
Canon Powershot S80 : 8 MP (1/1,8"), 28-100mm, F2,8-5,3, Digic II, 2,5" LCD.
Canon Ixus 750 (probably called the powershot SD550 in the USA) :
not many improvements, mainly 2,5" LCD, more languages, world time, other icons (software improvements).

New A series too. The A620 (7.1MP) and the A610 (5MP). They have 4x optical zoom, 2.0 LCD, and use Digic II.
Make my two-month old A510 feel old. :p

The new A610 and 620 are actually being marketed as mini-G series cameras rather than A series cameras. The S series used to be given this honor, but it appears that it has finally split off from the G series and gone about a more sleek and compact route. With these changes, it's pretty obvious that Canon will need to fill in the G/Pro series gap sometime next year, but the new A series and S series cameras should satisfy a lot of people for now.

I see nothing in their new p&s cameras to be happy about. Small sensors, more MP, slow lenses, bigger LCD, smaller size, and etc....
I wouldn't mind seeing an f/2-2.8 lens on the S80, especially for what they charge!

That kind of lens may be reserved for the next G/Pro series camera if it ever comes. Or more realistically, it could be a real mechanical "L" lens with f/2.8 (or similar) throughout. That would really be a selling point for such a product.

what about E18 in new models? especially A610, do you think they got rid of it?

Does Canon have a lens adapter for the S80?
will it be possible to then add on a polarizer?
If they do not have the adapter, is there any way to fit on a polarizer?

The majority of the E18 errors appear to occur on DIGIC (not DIGIC II) based cameras, especially the A70, A75, A85, and A95. There are cases where it's happened on the older SD (SD 200/300) series cameras, but with far less frequency. Given that the new A series run on DIGIC II, I can safely say that you'll be seeing less E18 complaints now.

The fact remains that, despite the new additions to the lineup, the sweetest Canon non-SLR camera remains the G6. Its f/2.0-3.0 lens alone puts it above any S- or A- camera past and present.

The sd450 and SD550 cameras have 2.5" LCDs. Any news on the resolution??
