Hi everyone,

I am looking for a flash for my new D50. Has anyone used this flash from Sigma? How is your result?

What flash do you recommend for D50?

Thank you.

While I'm sure that Sigma makes a decent Nikon copy, the DG Super is priced about the same as the SB600. The standard DG (non-super) may work as well, however:

Keep in mind that Sigma, and all 3rd party suppliers reverse engineer their products, so there may be some missing attributes, but the majority of primary feartures are probably there.

The Sigma EF 500 DG is a pretty good deal at about $160, but the DG Super is the better of the two (from reviews that I have read) at about $240. For $10 more you could buy a Nikon SB600 which you know will work 100% with your D50 (and every other Nikon dSLR).

Try the DG and see if it meets your needs. It may be a good lower cost alternative for you. But if you are looking at the DG Super I would have a strong tendancy to recommend the SB600 instead.
