I've had my canon a75 since march '04, and starting today my camera has been acting up really badly out of nowhere. The LCD display now flickers A LOT under low light conditions, and in several cases these flickers translate into the pictures I've taken as streaks. Here are some examples:

Does anyone know what the problem is? My camera is now out of warranty. I was thinking of opening it up and tinkering with the insides....

My A70 did not exhibit this purple lines, but suddenly fail to take pictures. (can only take blank pictures, LCD can review old pictures take nicely though).

Some other users reported that purple line is the beginning, it will eventually end up taking black pictures like my unit.

Can try openning it up to check for loose parts. good luck.

Best is to write a complain letter to canon asking for free service, never try never know.

Same thing with my A70, first the live view and video than some pictures, now it's even more, and sometimes blank images.

Not just A70, same thing happened to my S1 IS...

My friend called me to say that CAnon informed him that the CCD sensor is burned.
The technician told my friend that it was a common problem for all digital cameras.
Where is the Canon's QC department?
