View Full Version : Need help please
Im still searching for a new camera, and
I would like to know if there is a camera that is comparable to the
Kodak Easyshare DX7590,
with at least
5.0 megapixels
10X optical zoom
3X digital zoom
2.2" high-resolution indoor/outdoor display
Manual and custom controls
High-speed, low-light auto-focus
Continuous shooting and bracketing modes
22 scene and color modes.
that is made by another company?
Please, any suggestion will be of help.
Thanks in advance.

I don't often respond to this thread, but I'm curious as to why, if the Kodak 7590 meets your requirements, are you searching for the same thing from another manufacturer?
I would think that Kodak is as good as any in this price performance catagory.
I think the only reason to maybe not consider the 7590 would be the lack of image stabilization and a focus assist lamp...you can get those features and comparable image quality elsewhere, but users seem to like this camera...
Thanks for asking...
I do like the kodak alot, but
I found that the Kodaks of this model has a issue with the color dark purple, by turning that color a dark blue. Ive got some great photos of flowers, jackets, purple notebooks, all are clear, sharp great detail, but now the color is dark blue, not purple. It also prints out in blue. Ive looked at other digitals and found they do not have this color issue. Ive shown this to a few dealers and they just shrugged it off, saying that is a hard color to work with,or "thats a kodak for ya". One saleman did say he would talk to the kodak man when he came in the store later this week. I did try to email kodak about this...they sent me tips on how to take and upload photos to the computer.

AATHere's a list of most of the current super/ultra zooms besides the Kodak 7590:
Canon S2
Canon S1
Canon Pro 1
Panasonic FZ5
Panasonic FZ20
Sony H1
Fuji S5100
Fuji S7000
KM Z5
Nikon 4800
Nikon 8800
Olympus C-765
Olympus C-770
Samsung 815
Kodak P850
Kodak Z740
Soon to be released:
Panasonic FZ30
Fuji S9000
Fuji S5200
KM Z6
Of course not all them meet your stated requirements. I suggest that you research each one, and after you've narrowed your choice, try to see/use the finalists in person...
Hey everyone, did I miss any? :D

lol, Kodak support is so friggin pathetic. Is this just a Kodak thing? I emailed Kodak support earlier this year because a friends camera suddenly started taking out of focus pictures. I was very clear about the issue and just as articulate because I wanted to make sure they knew the issue and that I knew what I was doing. This is the pathetic response they provided:

Greetings,
We have received your e-mail regarding KODAK EASYSHARE CX7300 Digital Camera.
There could be many reasons why the pictures seem a bit soft and out of focus. I suggest you place the camera on a table or other stable surface and use the Self-Timer feature. This will eliminate any possible camera shake while the picture is taken.
When you are going to take pictures while holding the camera, a good stance is important in getting a good picture. Stand with your legs about two feet apart with your arms close to your sides. Hold the camera comfortably, but in a way that is not blocking the flash or the meter of the camera. If you are going to take a picture using the viewfinder, keep this stance and bring the camera gently to your forehead. View the image with both eyes open if you are using the viewfinder and compose the picture. When you are ready to snap the shutter, press the shutter half way to set the camera mechanics for exposure. When ready to capture the image, do it slowly, yet deliberately, avoiding any jerky motions. Note: Digital cameras take just a split second longer to capture the picture so keep your position for just a second longer than you would with a film camera. This will help you prevent blurring due to removing the camera from the picture taking stance too soon.
If you are going to use the view-screen to preview your composition, use the same techniques as noted, but do not hold the camera to your forehead. It will be a bit more difficult to keep a good stance, as you will not have the option of steadying the camera against your forehead.
So, to limit blur, lean against a wall, rest your elbows, or use some other object, if possible. Try to rest your arms on something in front of you. The object here, is to make sure you have the support to steady the camera and prevent camera movement during exposure.
If the images are clear, and sharp, using the self timer, consider this process each time you take a picture. It will soon become second nature to you. If this does not help, attach 2-3 sample images, directly from the camera without editing, to your reply of this e-mail. We will analyze them and get back to you as soon as possible.
We are glad to be of service and are here for you if you need us in the future. If you do, please include any previous e-mail.
Regards,
