Wow, nice shot.

Can you tell us the model number of your lens, and where to buy?

Thanks.

Nikkor 70-300 AF-ED goes between $300 and $350

I got mine at nice electronics but wouldnt wish them on my enemies. Try not to buy from new jersey and new york online stores. Read the reviews first on any place you go with. :D

Both Norman Camera and B&H Photo have this lens for $319. Both are well known, well established, brick-and-mortar stores with online ordering.

You might want to consider the Sigma 70-300 APO-M DG, the same (and maybe better at some settings) picture quality for about $100 less. Worth a shot.

on a Nikon thread. Never mind.

I own a D70 and have been thinking about getting a better zoom. I have a Nikor AF 70-240 mm zoom that I originally bought for my F80. Taking pictures of people at long distances at 240mm, I find that the images are frequently a bit fuzzy at A4. Not entirely satisfied. I was thinking about a serious investment in one of the big nikon zooms - but heard that the Sigma 100-300 mm f/4 APO is pretty good. Since George Riehm made some comments about a similar lens - has he (or anyone else for that matter) a good (or bad) word to say about this Sigma lens which I can get online from Hong Kong at half (ish) the price of the Nikon. Buying either retail in the UK is a lot of money !!

Thanks.

Glenn, You are not being ignored here, but I don't think I have seen anyone on the DCRP with this lens. If you type in Sigma 100-300 in google there should be a couple of reviews.
