Hi,
I plan to but an Acer CR-6530 6.3 mp camera. I was wondering if anyone has one and if they know much about it, if it performs well and if it is reliable.

Why did you choose a camera that few have ever heard of? Better to spend more and get a known brand with known reliability and real support. Acer, by all accounts, are a buy once and throw away when it goes wrong manufacturer. They sell a lot of cheapish laptops that really aren't the good value that they first appear to be.

I think that Acer is also sold as the Vivitar Vivicam 4000 and the Traveler DC6300, The same camera also has the Rollei and BenQ names attached to it. It's probably not too bad, but you could find better chioces out there. One neat feature of this camera is that you can do time lapse photography. I think you can take up to 99 shots spaced at intervals of 1, 3, 10 or 60 minutes. This is kind of a nice feature to have if you like nature photography.

Thanks for that. The spec on these cameras are similar but the casing is completely different to the acer camera. I have heard a few good reports about the camera, I hope it fairs me well! :)

I didn't even know Acer made/sold cameras. We can be ideal and say that it doesn't matter what brand it is as long as it's a good camera, but I strongly advise looking elsewhere because you'll be disappointed, especially if this camera is being rebranded under the likes of Vivitar.

I have heard for the most part very good reviews for this camera. A lot of people have written it off without even owning it, I find that very interesting. I also find that some people think acer are rubbish and some think they are good. I'll soon find out anyway.
