Very cute :D

Though, I'd be afraid that the young lady might try to lift that massive piece of kit and drop it on something... breaking the front element.

I'm willing to bet that the front element on that lens is thick enough to deflect bullets. Dropping it might ding the hood, which is the last 6 inches of the lens length, but I don't think the front elelment is in danger either way.

The immediate threat would be the lens falling on (and probably breaking) her foot.

I'd hate to carry a lens like that!

It has a trailer/crane/wheeled-tripod option... ;)

I see nature/sports shooters with this type lens mounted on a heavy duty monopod slung over their shoulder with a hunters recoil pad to protect their neck.

I noticed that most of these long (300-600mm f2.8 and f4) L lenses are IS, which is interesting as shooting hand-held might be more of a strength problem than shake.

Would be fun to see your XT mounted on this badboy.

Prolly wouldn't even be able to find the XT on the end of that lens. :D

At least my XT wouldn't add much to the overall weight :p
