Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me choose a camera for my uses. I mainly want to use it for taking photos at concerts, indoors/party, outdoor, for vacation (pictures of whatever one would take on a vacation, scenery, building, etc) and night shots. People have been telling me to just purchase a camera with 5mp and that would be good enough. I want really clear pictures, and I was hoping 6+ mp could give me that. I am unsure, would it look better on larger prints or and super great on smaller prints? Not sure if that's how it works but if anyone could explain, I'd appreciate it.
I have been looking at higher mp digital cameras such as the Canon SD500, Olypmus Stylus800, and the Fuji F10. I know I will rarely print huge photos, but I will print mostly the average sizes right out of the store in the machines, or either at home. I want a decent recording feature with a built in speaker to be able to hear the video when I watch it. Also, can anyone answer what optical viewfinder is? I also want to keep some headroom for the future, and that's why I planned on purchasing such a high mp camera, but not sure if its right for my uses.
I am also very willing to learn and take advantage of manual controls. I am a newbie, but I don't want a really newbie camera if you guys understand. I want something I wont regret after I learn a few things about the settings and taking photos. I would really appreciate suggestions on how many mp I should get, which camera, and why. Thanks.
