Hi all,
I am in the market again after my trusty s1 is was stolen, just as the s2 is was being introduced. After a bit of research, I have narrowed my choices down to lumix fz 30 and the canon s2 is. I will be using the camera primarily for nature photography (animals, particularly birds, seascapes, followed by landscapes).
In addition for general advice regarding this matter, I also have some other questions/additional discussion points:
-- The noise level of the fz30 is above average, but I have read from some this is not problematic if you normally do not view at full capacity and more importantly, if you make prints of the images. Does anyone know why noise levels are not problematic when you make prints? In addition, are noise levels more problematic at certain print sizes as opposed to others?
-- My guess is the noise levels might be a big annoyance if you do a lot of digital processing - anyone care to validate/correct this assumption? I am definitely interested in learning more about digital processing.
-- Any issues/potential concerns regarding how user interface may affect picture taking (i.e. the inability to remove the memory card while the camera is on a tripod within the lumix). I am a fan of Canon's user interface, esp as I was a former canon owner, but I think ultimately image quality should take precedence.
Thanks!
