Okay, I'm desperate, so if anybody has any ideas or suggestions at all, please let me know. I'm the sports editor at my local newspaper and our first fb game is coming up the 27th of August - I need this camera!

I went on vacation last week and, unwillingly, left our Nikon D1H with the editor. I had to, since it's the newspaper's camera, but I had a bad feeling about it because the editor is inexperienced and didn't really need to use the camera, just wanted to.

Sure enough, I come back from vacation Thursday and head out to an intrasquad scrimmage with the camera Friday and it doesn't work. I push the button, nothing, so I automatically moved the little ring at the base of the lens, which I know fixes the "FEE" problem, and still nothing. I looked at the display and both the "Card" symbol and the "0" under REM are blinking. I ran back down to the office and deleted all the pictures the editor had taken off the disc and still it won't work. I looked in the manual and it says that when those two symbols are blinking it means the card is full. But the card wasn't full. Just to be on the safe side, I ran down to the Radio Shack and bought a brand new card - still nothing.

I'm at a loss and in a hurry. Does anybody have any ideas?

Sorry to hear baout this? YOu should do a search online to see if anyone else had any problems. Sometimes you need to reformat the memory card..
