OK...I finally made up my mind to purchase Canon digital camera.
I used to have Canon A75 powershot and that was great buy, but I gave it to my brother.
I have dilema which one to buy now: A510, A520 or A80.
The reason I have listed A80 is...I know somebody that's selling it for $240.00 (canadian Dollar)....which I think it's great deal
Would would you guys suggest since purchasing new A510 or A520...would easily cost me around $400?

You can get an A510 for about $170US from any good online vendor, I think $400Can is way high (but I don't know Canadian pricing). I think for the cameras you list, the A510 (A520 does not take as clear a pic and costs more) is the best for the price. I have one, it is excellent and easy to use. I'm sure you know about the 5 sec. refresh time when a flash pic is taken, aside from that there are no negatives. I vote : A510.

Best price I can get for A510 in Canada is $249.00 + tax it would cost me $286.00
So, if we are comparing A80 for $240.00 for A510 for $286.00
It's not big price difference I guess it depends which camera is better.

Drummer, If you are buying the A80 used, is the person including the software which comes with the Cannon. I found the Zoom Browser and Photo Studio programs which come with the new cameras to be very useful. I know the pros like Photo Shop better, but for my regular person uses, I like the included stuff and if bought would add about $70 to the price, so that should also factor in. That's about all I know. The A80 is older, etc., but it's really which camera you like the feel of and pics from better. Good luck, I'm sure either will serve you well.

yes, I would get the full package with A80....but on second thought.....for the little bit more money I can get A510...brand new camera.
I'm surprised lot of people are preferening A510 over A520....

OK, one last comment about A510 vs A520. I researched them a lot before buying and the professional reviewers explained why the pics with the A510 are clearer. It is because the two cameras are identical all the way down to the sensor where the problem is with the 520. As I understand it, the small sensor on this camera is better able to deal with the 3.2 MP in the 510 vs the 4.0 in the 520 so you get clearer pics with the 510. You can enlarge the 3.2mp to 8" X 10" pics.

Should I be returning my A520 for the A510 if they are really just the same camera except for the megapixal because I don't plan to print larger than 4x6?

Gamez Girl, If it's easy for you to return the A520 it would be a good idea as you would save some money and get sharper pics, more pics on the memory card and a somewhat faster pic to save time as the mp are fewer.
I saw below where you asked about the memory card. I have a 512 Kingston SD. It is not a fast card, but with these cameras speed is really not an issue, because they are slower and can't really use the extra speed of high speed memory cards very well, the Kingston has worked well so far, about 4 months.

You may want to only print 4x6 pics, but what if you find yourself wanting to crop some photos in future?
Will you have enough resolution to print a clear pic? I like using at least 4 megapixels just in case....
