having a hard time like many of you are trying to decide which new toy to get......i currently have a canon A95 and a Powershot Pro 1...like both (took a while to get to like the Pro 1 but i've really grown into it). now would like something with the 12x zoom but am also considering the Olympus 7070 due to the excellent reviews on the image quality...that is certainly an important point:)
thanks and look forward to your seeing your pics.

See my pics taken with the S2, I may have to bother you to shrink the pics which have already been crop from the parent picture. thanks.
Hope that my pics would help in your decision making!

Not to bash 'Within', but those pictures are not a good representation of the S2's imaging capabilities. It looks like there is way too much compression on the images.
I'll try to post something later if I get a chance.

The Oly C-7070 & the Canon S2 are quite different beasts
The Oly is the one if you want a wider angle starting point (27mm equiv)
however it doesn't have a tremendous telephoto end (140 equiv).
The Canon, from what I have seen, will give very good pic quality and has a 12x zoom (if I remember - 36 - 436mm - or similar). Given your choices I would choose the Canon. Personally I use the wide angle end more than the telephoto end - but like to have a bit of telephoto available. I get the feeling the C-7070 would give a slightly over processed result without adjusting the user settings a bit, never the less it does have a very good image quality. I think the S2 would give a more natural and pleasing overall result.
Try looking through the various Camera review sites to see if there are any images to compare. - But don't get bogged down like I did over minute differences, look at the overall results more.
PS - why are we going down this road if you have a Canon Pro 1?? Is 200mm not enough - if so forget the Oly
