can someone please help me in . I now have a rebel 2000 with a tamron 28-200 lens. I have decided to go digital and buy the rebel xt.
I mostly take pictures of my grandkids and of course the dog.
I think I will be more satisfied with a bigger lens than the 18-55. can anyone give me any suggestions on the lens ?? and will my tamron lens work with the xt.... thanks

Yea it'll work fine most likely. On some occasions the older lens need to be sent back to the manufacturer to get rechipped for the newer digital cameras but thats no big deal to have done. I'd suggest getting the 18-55mm for those wider shots you'll wanna take on a occasion. For about less than a $100 its a fairly decent lens.

Having the kit lens around for the close in wide shots is well worth it for the cheap price it costs.
The XT is a great choice, just watch the exposure! I keep it on partial metering for any people shot and always meter on them. If you meter on something else you'll get blown highlights off white skin a lot or glare, very unpleasing especially outdoors.
