80x card not quick enough for S2 1S

Can this be right?

My 80x SD card can't cope with movies in the new Powershot S2: it stops and buffers about every 8 seconds and I have to make a new movie!

Where can I find a definitive instruction as to the card I ought to use? It looks like 120x or 133x is the minimum?

What have others found?

It seems like you got a junk card. What size and brand is it?

Video on the S2 is about 2MB per second. That is no where near 80x.

Something like this should be more than enough:

It has a minimum sustained write speed of 4.8MB/sec.

Maybe try low level format the card see if that helps

I ran a video of 30Megs, 640x480@15fps no problems.
