I shoot sports (BMX) photography and would like suggestions for a high quality, possibly a thermal dye sublimation, photo printer.
Right now I just take orders and have prints made at a local photo lab but, after much research, have decided that a portable, on-site setup would be much better-as riders are more likely to purchase a print on-site (at the event) then going on-line to view and purchase prints at a later time. If you have any other suggestions, regarding equipment for a on-site set up, I'd really appreciate it. I shoot with 35mm Nikon and will obviously have to switch to a digital body as well.

You might want to think about the Canon i990 or the Epson 320. Both are relatively low cost, are quick, and print very well up to 8 x 10.
