I just started printing...color photo printing that is. I bought the pixma 8500 and started with a simple test picture from and old film shot on a CD from a commercial developer. I saw the lab print of this and the color looked good. With the 8500 I did a crop and darkened highlights and shadows a bit then printed it on one of Canon's cheaper papers to see what my first prints would look like. All looks good but now there is a definite pinkish cast to the lighter color areas. I read that this is a known problem with the 8500 sometimes. Does anyone know 1) why? 2) a way around it in the first place? 3) a specific way to fix it once it's there? I'm using Photoshop Elements 3 but I'm pretty new at that too. Specifics would be helpful.
I didn't figure this would be so simple I could just throw them in and they'd "print themselves". And I'm having fun.
Thanks for any tips,
