the 2005 tall ships race has arrived on tyneside (newcastle uk) this is one of the first to arrive by tuesday there should be about 100 vessels moored on the river

Very nice shots. As an ex swabbie (Navy and Coast Guard) I can appreciate going to sea, and still like to sail (although it's more difficult here in the Sanoran Desert).

Thanks for the photos. Not many tall ships left. Except maybe aircraft carriers. ;)
