Well, since evidently I gave in to my DSLR urge, now it is a question of what lens should I pick.
From Nikon N75 I have Zoom W/A-Telephoto AF Zoom Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G AF Lens.
I like its quality and intend to used it with D70. I know that DX lenses are better and I known that regular lenses won’t cover the same angle as DX but I have limited funds dedicated to “the project”.
I do a lot of macro shots (with my small digicam that has macro mode) so I would like to purchase decent lenses with macro capabilities.
I found:
Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Macro Super II Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF-D ($139)
It has 3.1’ minimum focus which is pretty good compared to similar Tamron that has 4.9’ minimum focus distance. Also it is nice telephoto lens.
My concern is that I don’t cover the wide end. My N75 kit lens will reduce the angle on D70 and Sigma telephoto lens is obviously not good for wide shots either. (I don’t mean really wide shots where lines would look really curved – I can use software to merge panoramic shots).
Are there any other options in this price range ($100-$200) with macro mode and decent quality?
Thanks,
Leon.
