Date imprint on Vivitar 4100

I would really like to take the date imprint out of the pictures on my Vivitar 4100 that I just bought. Is there anyway to do this other than cropping the photo? I couldn't seem to find anything in the user's manual. Or do Vivitar's just NOT have an option like that? Thank you very much.

Turn on camera, go to capture menu by pressing the menu button on the back and scroll down to page two. the last setting after saturation and sharpness is Date,Imprint. this will be marked as ON. Press Ok button on the right and you can then scroll down to OFF. when you have scrolled down press OK button again and the date is removed. You will find this on page 62 of the manual.
