Nice one, the 300mm lens i was using gives an err99 at anything over f5.6 and yours looks over sharpend so thats me an even happier chappy with the result i got now

Yeah I was playing with the unsharp mask (never used it before in my life) and went a little overboard. I left it go out of laziness...but I still have the original.

Hahaha! :D
Just an example of how having no optical zoom severely limits the posibilities as opposed to those excellent examples you guys posted with the advantage of optical zoom.
Great shots guys!

If that camera has a manual mode set the shutter to 1/800 sec. This I took handheld with my Sigma 18-125mm @ 1/800 f/5.6 looking through the pine tree needles:

Just to let you guys know, there is already a Moon thread with lots of great pics in it: http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7132
Maybe an admin can combine the threads or make it a sticky?

Wall: Thanks for the heads up, wall. Wonder why admin hasn't made it into a sticky already.
Bluedog: thanks for the tip. I'll try that tonight, hopefully skies will be clear. :) By the way I can't control shutter speed with this thing (Powershot A200), so my best option would be to turn it up to ISO 400 and set EV to -2. Anyone know how to tweak this thing so it can take acceptable shots of the moon? :o
