I'm trying to decide between the C-5500 & C-765 for my first digital camera. Most of my prints will be 4x6 or 5x7, with an 8x 10 once in a while, but I like to crop. Mostly for family photos or travel photos. Any suggestions?

Need more information, but check the reviews here.

I have the 770 and very happy with it (also my first digital). I crop frequently and have had no problem with 4x6.

Check my website below for some examples.

I must be the only member of this forum that actually likes the C-5500. I prefer my dSLR when action is involved, but the C-5500 is my travel camera.

For my purposes it's a great point-n-shoot, and it offers a large degree of manual control when that's what you want. Picture quality is more than adequate, although I've noticed the dreaded "purple fringes" at the edges of wide-angle photos.

I tried the C-765 and didn't like the way it fit my hand.

Chucko makes a good point. Go to a camera shop and see how it feels before you buy any camera.
