Does the FZ5 perform better with the faster memory modules that are available, or about the same and spending the extra $$ isn't worth it?
thanks for any feedback

IMHO
The FZ5 is much the same as the other FZ cameras and they can read and write at about 5 mb/s ..which is about 32X.
So any card 32X or faster will work the same.
I just had to try the new Panasonic card (133X) even though I new it would not be worth the money.
It works the same as a 32X Lexar card I have.
Most say they get a big speed benefit when using a USB2 card reader but I really do not see much difference there either.
While I do not have this card it should work just fine. And if you do not have a card reader get the one listed in the combo deal.

Thanks for that information, that card does seem like a pretty good deal, though I have never heard of the mfg, which does make me a tad leary, though the price is pretty good.. I'll give it some thought.. Norm

One thing that would make the decision easier for me is Newegg
You can be sure they will make it good if there is a problem and they will not handle it if they would expect a problem.
Patriot is a pretty well known (and I believe well regarded) memory company. I think they have only recently started making the SD cards. I picked this one up when there was a $15 rebate; you can't beat a 60x card for $46.

Well it appears you snooze you lose.. the rebate ended today and the price has reverted to $61 for a round number.. However I find mail-in rebates annoying, you wait weeks for them to come in most cases, if they come at all. I'll have to look at the other options, its good to know that the FZ5 does benefit some from the higher speed memory..

@genece... tnx for the info. now there's no need to up the 32x ante on the higher speed cards. that is, more bang for the buck on capacity then than speed for future card purchases for me.
