cleaning cloth vs lens pen

Is it better to use microfibre cloth or lens pen to clean (or other methods) the lens and filters?

I prefer the lens pen, much easier and less chance of scratching the lens or filter. I have had no problems with the pen, I have used it 2 or 3 times now with no problems at all. I have heard some bad stories about cloths and liquids!

I use the cloth 90% of the time and the pen for stubborn marks.

I'm using cloth at the moment but thinking of getting lens pen. How often should I change the cloth and the pen? Can I wash the cloth?

I saw lens cleaning tissue in the shop. Is it good or is cloth better?
