I had my lens off the other day and was looking at mirror at noticed dust particles on it. It does show up when looking through lens but hasn't seemed to show up on pictures. What is the best way to clean mirror? What tools will I need to do it? Thanks for your time. Don't know if it matters but have Canon Rebel 300D.

Well it won't show up on your pictures if it's on the mirror as the mirror moves out of the way to expose the sensor to take the image.

There is a rockerblower (basically a manual air blower with a filter at bottom) which can work but you risk blowing the dust onto the sensor. I rocket blow out my chambers every few weeks though and the sensor is only really bad at very big F stops which I don't often use (F16>)

Whatever you do, do NOT under any circumstance touch the mirror.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a problem leaving it on there and what happens if you touch the mirror. I'm a newbie. Thanks again.
