BG-E3 Grip Question

Not sure if I should've posted this here or in the battery section :confused:


Anyhoo, I see the BG-E3 holds either 2 battery packs or 6AA's....

Could I still use a single battery pack alone or do I absolutely need 2 packs for it to work?

I want the grip mainly to add some weight to help steady my shaky hands when shooting with big lenses :o

You can use one battery pack in either slot.

Keep the 6AA one with your camera bag though, its great when you run out of juice in a bad spot.

I use 2 battery packs and I keep the 6AA loaded with lithium batteries just in case.
