I was playing around today on my deck and I discovered something that I didn't know the camera did and I thought I would share it. I might be the only one here that didn't know this until today, but in the off chance I am not maybe its just the thing someone is looking for and didn't know the XT did this as I will find it useful in the future.

As I sometimes shoot in TV priority or AV priority to get the desired effect, whether it be the aciton freezing high shutter speed or the background blurring low aperature... however today I realized if you are shooting in P mode and you rock the wheel in either direction it will go through the multiple different TV and AV combinations that create a correct exposure according to the cameras expsure meter. That was pretty neat I thought and I didn't know that the camera did that. Like I said eariler maybe its just me, but there it is.... :D

AKA: Program Shift.

It works well for outdoors if you want a faster apateur but the camera autoselects something closer to 1/200th a second.

You have to half press the shutter release first but yes, you can select different combinations of apeture/shutter using the main dial. However, I don't think you can make it stick without going to manual mode.
